Surefire Hockey’s mission is to provide the best and most up to date coaching techniques for every player that steps on the ice with us. We strive to add to each player’s hockey repertoire with proper repetitive technique training. Our coaches come from various coaching backgrounds which help promote innovative instruction.
Director: Steve O’Hern
Coach O’Hern has been coaching players of all ages in skating technique training, shooting, stickhandling, and small games emphasizing proper technique for over 15 years with various organizations including his own Surefire Hockey. Coach O’Hern has been fortunate enough to coach with NHL, MN high school, and youth hockey coaches which has given him a broad perspective on how to coach various players at different ages and abilities.
Coach O’Hern is USA hockey certified for all levels of hockey. Coach O’Hern played youth hockey in White Bear Lake, MN played high school hockey for St. Bernard/St. Agnes, and collegiately for Northland college – NCAA. He holds a B.S. degree in Business and Economics with a minor in Coaching.
